Information Technology Support Specialist

The HoneyBadger Team is looking for an IT Specialist to join our high-performing team of professionals. We are looking for like-minded individuals who display grit, integrity, hard work, and an ability to think outside the box.

 

This is a full-time, fully onsite position out of our downtown Vancouver office. The successful candidate will oversee general IT functions, including managing IT infrastructure, programs, and software to support the team. They will also serve as the gatekeeper to ensure that security is a top priority, proactively safeguarding the company’s IT systems and data.

 

 

The ideal candidate must be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to provide solutions for a fast-paced and evolving work environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a passion for technology and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Maintain and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware to ensure optimal performance.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and applications used by the team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
  • Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to maintain system security and compliance.
  • Act as the gatekeeper for IT security, implementing best practices to protect the organization against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with the team to assess technology needs and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff to ensure effective use of IT tools and systems.
  • Research and stay updated on emerging technologies to propose upgrades and improvements.

 

 

 

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT administration or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud-based systems.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as office productivity software.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and IT compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are an asset.
